True Horizon - Natural Office Makeup

Group sessions built around everyday professional appearance

Most makeup advice targets either editorial looks or bare-minimum routines. Office makeup sits in a specific middle ground - visible enough to read as intentional, restrained enough to stay appropriate across long working days and varied lighting conditions.

True Horizon was built to address that gap through structured group learning, peer feedback, and facilitated practice rather than passive instruction.

What the group format actually changes

Watching a tutorial and practising in a group are different cognitive experiences. When participants work alongside others, they notice technique variations they would not have questioned alone - why one person's blending looks more natural, how a slightly different brush angle changes the finish. That observational layer is difficult to replicate in solo study.

Facilitators at True Horizon are trained to name what is happening in real time, not just demonstrate outcomes. Sessions follow a structured arc: context and skin-tone analysis first, technique blocks second, then peer review with specific language rather than general impressions.

  • 01
    Skin-tone calibration before product selection

Foundation and concealer choices are made after analysing undertone under both natural and artificial light, since office environments rarely match home lighting.

  • 02
    Structured peer observation rounds

Each technique block ends with a short observation period where participants describe what they see in each other's work using provided vocabulary, not open-ended opinion.

  • 03
    Longevity testing within the session

Participants check their own work at the 90-minute mark to identify what has shifted and why - building an understanding of product behaviour over time rather than just at application.

Orsolya Fekete Lead Facilitator, True Horizon

Orsolya has been designing and running group makeup sessions since the programme launched. Her background in adult learning shaped how True Horizon structures feedback rounds - the goal is always that participants leave with a clearer mental model, not just a finished look they cannot replicate.

Session format - focus to read

Sessions run online via video conference with a maximum of 14 participants per group. Each participant is asked to have their own product kit ready before the session - a recommended list is sent in advance. The facilitator shares their screen for close-up demonstrations while participants work on themselves simultaneously. Groups are kept small deliberately: above 14, the facilitator cannot give meaningful individual attention during peer review rounds.
